Review: Hatchet 3 (2013)

Hatchet 3: Hatchet 3 Horror Film is the third installment of the Hatchet film series. It follows the story of Victor Crowley's ongoing adventures as well as his escapade through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. The film features Kane Hodder as Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn as Deputy Winslow, and Rileah Vanderbilt as Misty.

The practical effects in the film are the film's biggest strengths. Hatchet 3 uses a lot less CG effects than other horror films. This allows some truly terrifying moments to be captured in the movie.

The cast gives a solid performance with Kane Hodder being the most intimidating villain. The dialogue is so funny and cheeky that it could feel like a classic '80s horror movie. There are also several hilarious moments throughout that offer some humor in the midst of the terrifying action.

Unfortunately, the film's budget was limited to one million dollars. That means a lot of locations in the movie are repeated from previous films. A boat house is featured twice, and the majority of the scenes feel like they're recycled from other films. Hatchet or Hatchet II may be able to recognize it as familiar, which can lead to the film feeling almost too familiar.

Overall, I enjoyed Hatchet 3 Hatchet 3 (2013) movie review even though it was very similar to previous installments in the series. It also provided plenty of gory thrills and entertaining performances from the actors.
